Partner-level experience, client-focused results

Beyond the practice of law

Life is centered on family and community. As a father of three, time away from the office is devoted to being present in shared experiences that strengthen family bonds, such as exploring the city’s many neighbourhoods, cycling, and travelling together.
These commitments outside the profession reflect the same values brought into the practice of law: dedication, perseverance and a thoughtful approach to every endeavour.

About Ruzbeh

Ruzbeh Hosseini is a Toronto litigation lawyer and partner at Cambridge LLP. His practice is focused on complex civil and commercial disputes, with particular experience in shareholder and partnership conflicts, construction disputes, and cross-border litigation. He represents businesses, professionals, and individuals in high-stakes cases before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal, and other adjudicative bodies.

Commercial Litigation

Ruzbeh’s work spans the full life cycle of a dispute—early risk assessment and pre-litigation strategy, urgent motions and injunctions, trials, appeals, and ultimately enforcement. He is regularly retained in commercial and contractual disputes, oppression and other shareholder remedies, construction litigation, commercial fraud, debt collection and mortgage enforcement, defamation and reputation-related claims, and matters involving complex contractual or lease arrangements, often with a cross-border element.

Cross-Border Litigation

A significant part of his practice involves cross-border and international issues, including the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in Ontario, jurisdiction and forum challenges, and conflicts of laws. He is particularly attuned to the procedural and substantive issues that arise when foreign parties or judgments intersect with Ontario courts, ensuring that clients’ rights are protected while navigating different legal systems.

Collection/Enforcement Litigation

Ruzbeh also has experience in collection and enforcement litigation, helping judgment creditors turn court decisions into meaningful recoveries. This includes advising on post-judgment remedies such as examinations in aid of execution, garnishments, writs of seizure and sale, and mortgage enforcement. He understands that a successful judgment is only as valuable as its enforceability and works closely with clients to develop practical strategies for recovery.

Qualified Arbitrator

As a Qualified Arbitrator (Q.Arb), Ruzbeh also brings a resolution-oriented mindset to arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution processes, offering clients structured, pragmatic pathways to resolve disputes that call for privacy, efficiency, or specialized expertise.

Strategic Partner

Ruzbeh is known as a strategic partner to his clients: clear in his communication, thoughtful in his advocacy, and disciplined in his preparation. He places a strong emphasis on making sure clients understand both the legal issues and the practical options at every stage—whether a matter is best resolved through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation. His advocacy is grounded in fundamentals: the elements of each cause of action, evidentiary requirements, and procedural fairness, supported by precise written submissions and focused oral argument.

Beyond his formal practice, Ruzbeh is committed to being a trusted resource for other lawyers and the clients they refer. He invests in education and thought leadership through writing, speaking, and online resources designed to make complex litigation issues more understandable and actionable.

Outside the office

Ruzbeh’s life is centered on family. As a father of three, much of his time away from work is spent exploring Toronto’s neighbourhoods, cycling, and travelling with his family. These experiences reflect the same values he brings to his practice—dedication, perseverance, and a thoughtful, steady approach to every challenge.

Based in downtown Toronto and serving clients across Ontario and in matters with national and international dimensions, Ruzbeh is valued for being both approachable and exacting: a lawyer who combines strategic insight with practical, results-driven advocacy.
